We are excited to announce that on June 12, 2024, Verda Berşan Genceli successfully defended her master’s thesis titled “Designing n-type Zintl Phases for Thermoelectric Power Generators Applications.”

Berşan’s research focused on the synthesis and characterization of binary and ternary phosphides, followed by a deep dive into n-type Mg₃Sb₂-based Zintl phases such as CaMg₂Sb₂ and CaMg₂Bi₂, using advanced doping strategies with tellurium and lanthanum. The results showed promising potential for these materials in thermoelectric applications, marking a significant step toward more efficient and sustainable energy solutions.
